Interested in learning Tai Chi but thought you were too inactive?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you’re certainly not alone. Many people who come to us are simply looking for a safe place to begin. Some haven’t exercised in years. Others are recovering from an injury or are searching for a gentle way to improve their health. Wherever you’re starting, we will meet you there.
Rich Pastorella is an experienced instructor with more than 30 years of teaching experience. Throughout his career, he has helped people of many different ages and abilities discover that meaningful progress is possible, often one small step at a time. Rich believes that Tai Chi is much more than a martial art. It is a practical way to improve balance, build confidence, reduce stress, and help people enjoy a more active lifestyle.
You don’t have to be in shape before you begin. That’s what we’re here to help you accomplish. You simply have to be willing to take the first step. As for age, many people are surprised to learn that Rich’s teacher’s teacher was still actively teaching martial arts at 93 years of age. That example continues to inspire Rich today. He believes Tai Chi gives people the opportunity to stay active, to continue learning, and to enjoy better movement throughout every stage of life.
Whether your goal is improving your health, becoming more active, or simply trying something new, we’d be honored to help you begin your journey. Still have questions? We’d be happy to talk with you, answer your questions, and help you decide whether Tai Chi is the right fit for your goal.
Rich has always believed that it’s never too late to make a positive change. Sometimes all it takes is the willingness to begin.
